The Coronet Instructional Film That I Would Be Analyzing...

The coronet instructional film that I would be analyzing is the short film, Nature of Sound (1948). An informative short film that describes the behavior of sound with visuals, difficult concepts, and experiments. This film interest me not only because I, myself, a student that has taken higher end physics courses but because why is a video as nature of Sound featuring certain aspects as it is representing; and who are the targeted audience. Aspects such as, there are only male being featured in the film. Other perspectives is that the demonstrators are extremely young; especially the young boy taking an interested into potential in depth physic. The Nature of Sound can be additionally further analyzed based off the time that is was†¦show more content†¦And both forms of entertainment of radio and television broadcast has much to do with sound behavior. And this video being heavily integrated with sound, an aspect of physics. To my belief, this video was design to persuade o r to catch the interest of young Americans to be familiar or to pursue a life into STEM fields. To encourage students to learn math, science, physic, engineering. To change the world in the hearth of America. Examining the short film, the video only displays a young male that seems to be in his early 20’s and a potential teenager or possibly younger than that has all of a sudden taken an interested in to the physics of sound. There is absolutely no female presence in this video. With that mentioned, during this time period, woman were highly encouraged to be the perfect house wife. It was not common for woman to pursue a career when the common ideal was that men would be the breadwinners. As said by at the time, Vice President Richard Nixon â€Å"I think this attitude towards woman is universal.† So from a perspective of the second in command of the United States, this video was following a social construct in the appropriate time period. Which personally I am against this solid vigorous form of gender role. I would be joyfully to see woman taking an interest in science rather than a stigma of a housewife. In Elaine Tyler May’s book, quote â€Å"Many who gave their marriages high ratings had actually resigned
